Rappa, the new 5-star character in Honkai: Star Rail, follows the Path of Erudition and is going to be a strong character for attacking multiple enemies at once (multi-target DPS). While we don’t know all the details of her abilities yet, we do know she’ll be available in version 2.6. If you want to use her right away, you’ll need to gather a lot of HSR Rappa Ascension and Trace materials to level her up and improve her abilities.
HSR Rappa Ascension Materials
To level Rappa up to her max, you’ll need different materials. Most of them you can start collecting now, but there’s one special item called Chordal Mirage, which will only be available when version 2.6 comes out. Other items you’ll need include things like Dream Collection Component, Dream Flow Valve, and Dream Making Engine.
To fully level up (Ascend) Rappa, you’ll need a lot of stuff:
- 15 Dream Collection Components
- 15 Dream Flow Valves
- 15 Dream Making Engines
- 65 Chordal Mirages
- 308,000 Credits
Here’s a quick breakdown of what you’ll need for each level of Rappa’s Ascension:
- Level 20: 5 Dream Collection Components and 4,000 Credits
- Level 30: 10 Dream Collection Components and 8,000 Credits
- Level 40: 6 Dream Flow Valves, 3 Chordal Mirages, and 16,000 Credits
- Level 50: 9 Dream Flow Valves, 7 Chordal Mirages, and 40,000 Credits
- Level 60: 6 Dream Making Engines, 20 Chordal Mirages, and 80,000 Credits
- Level 70: 9 Dream Making Engines, 35 Chordal Mirages, and 160,000 Credits
HSR Rappa Trace Materials
Once you’ve leveled Rappa as much as you can, the next thing to work on is improving her abilities, which are called Traces. To make her attacks and skills the best they can be, you’ll need a new set of materials. Like before, most of these can be gathered ahead of time, but it’s going to take some work.
You’ll still need Dream Collection Components, Dream Flow Valves, and Dream Making Engines, but for her Traces, you’ll also need extra materials like Rough Sketch, Dynamic Outlining, and Exquisite Colored Draft, which are special for characters following the Path of Erudition. Plus, there’s a special boss material called Lost Echo of the Shared Wish, and a rare item called Tracks of Destiny.
In total, here’s what you need to fully upgrade all of Rappa’s abilities:

How to Farm the HSR Rappa Materials Efficiently?
Gathering all the stuff you need for Rappa can take a while, so it’s good to start early. For items like Dream Collection Components and Dream Making Engines, you can go to Penacony and fight the Dreamjolt Troupe enemies. For Credits (which you’ll need a lot of), the best place to farm is the Calyx (Golden): Bud of Treasures.
The tricky part is Chordal Mirage, a new material that’s only coming in the Honkai Star Rail 2.6 update. You can get it by doing a new activity called Stagnant Shadow on the Penacony Grand Theater map. Each time, you get five, so you’ll have to do it a few times to collect all 65 needed for Rappa’s Ascension.
If you’re working on improving her abilities (Traces), you’ll need to do the Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Erudition activity to get items like Rough Sketch, Dynamic Outlining, and Exquisite Colored Draft.
Overall, getting Rappa ready to fight will take some time and effort. Luckily, most of the materials can be gathered before version 2.6 arrives, but for Chordal Mirage, you’ll have to wait. Once you have everything, Rappa will be a strong DPS character for your team.
