HSR The Herta Drip Marketing has been revealed and she is the real 5-star variant of Herta. She will officially be coming in 3.0 Version.
Honkai Star Rail (HSR) just dropped a big surprise for fans – the real Herta, not her puppets, is becoming a playable character. She’s coming in the HSR 3.0 update, starting January 15, 2025. Instead of “Madame Herta” or “Herta Prime,” she’s now just called “The Herta.” Short, fancy, and to the point, right? And here is all that we know about this character.
Who is HSR The Herta?
If you’ve played HSR, you’ve probably seen her puppets on Herta Space Station or even got the free 4-star Herta early in the game. But these puppets aren’t her real self. The real Herta, also known as member #83 of the Genius Society, is a genius who helped create the Simulated Universe. She lives far out in the cosmos and rarely appears, making this playable version a big deal.

HSR The Herta Role and Kit Leaks
In the game, The Herta will be a 5-star character, following the Erudition path with an Ice element. She’s got some super cool abilities (literally ice-themed).
Leaks claim that her kit is all about stacking something called “Spirit Keys” on enemies. These stacks make her skills and ultimate hit harder. Her enhanced skill and ultimate also deal extra damage and can hit multiple targets. This makes her a strong choice for teams that rely on big area-of-effect attacks.
Here’s the fun part: The Herta gets stronger when you have other Erudition characters in your team. She even boosts their critical damage, making her a perfect fit for Erudition-heavy lineups. Her talents and traces are designed to work with Spirit Keys, giving her extra turns, buffs, and energy regeneration when allies attack.

She’s also getting a 5-star Light Cone (basically her special weapon). This LC boosts crit rate and increases energy recovery if her energy is above a certain level. It also amps up her ultimate and skill damage, making her an even bigger powerhouse.
The Herta Voice Actors and Release Date
The Herta will have the same voice actors as her puppet version—PJ Mattson in English and Haruka Yamazaki in Japanese. And her story might be tied to some major upcoming plot twists, as her real self only appears for super critical events. The teaser hints that this might connect to the new Amphoreus Trailblazing arc.
As for the release date, she will be released in version 3.0 along with Aglaea. The Herta’s banner will run for three weeks, ending on February 4, 2025. If you want to add her to your team, you’ll need Stellar Jades and Star Rail Special Passes. Even if you miss out, don’t worry – her banner will likely return later.
